We also offer advanced training. All dogs will be evaluated to see where they are in their training journey.

Hi, I'm Jena!

I believe that positive training is the key to fostering better behavior and creating happier, healthier lives for pets and their owners.

My philosophy in the formation of Equinox Pets is a combination of the love that Coloradans have for their animals combined with my intense curiosity about behavioral animal science and psychology in dog training. 

 

Equinox Pets offers dog training, pet sitting, and walking with an emphasis on training. Equinox Pets is not just my business - it is my passion and the result of many years of deep love and understanding of working with dogs.

A coworker of mine recommended Jena as a trainer and I am so glad that she did! Our pup, Ruthie, has anxiety and medical trauma and when we reached out to Jena we were at a point of desperation, especially when it involved anything with body handling (putting a harness on, grooming, even petting her would sometimes trigger her). Jena seemed unphased by Ruthie's issues and quickly gained not only Ruthie's trust but her love, which is not always an easy feat. After setting a foundation for us in the home, Jena has now transitioned to doing the majority of our training either at the groomer's or at the vet's office, something we didn't even realize was an option. We still have a long ways to go, but we have already seen so much progress, especially when it comes to Ruthie's trust in us - she is even cuddling with us now without flinching every time we move! Jena is warm and knowledgeable and we would highly recommend her for your training needs, especially when it comes to body handling! We haven't come across anyone else who works in that niche quite like Jena does, and it is vital for our wellbeing and Ruthie's. Thank you Jena!
